Evan Hopper-Moore

Programmer - Web Dev - Musician

About Me

My name is Evan Hopper-Moore, and I am a programmer, web developer, and musician.

I first started coding in middle school by making small games and apps in C++, and I fell in love with solving the puzzles of programming. In high school found more passion for coding when I joined the South Eugene Robotics Team. There I worked with Java and Python, helping write code for the robots and teaching classes to younger members. In this time I experimented with Unity and game development as well. These interests lead me to persue a degree in Compter Science at OSU.

In March of 2021 I graduated from Oregon State University with a BOS in Computer Science. At OSU I had the opportunity to take classses ranging all facets of Computer Science, including full stack web development, AI and machine learning, and many different languanges. In my free time, I enjoy recording and producing music with friends, painting, photography, game development, and programming generative visual art.

Work/Activity History

Front End Developer, Net Assets

March 2022 - Ongoing

Net Assets creates web applications for cities to digitize their paper-based processes for handling properties and businesses. As the front end developer in our small team at Net Assets, I style and implement new features, fix issues, and reorganize pages to be cleaner and more responsive. Additionally, I refactored the front end code base to be accessible, readable, and reusable.

Test Technician, Novus Labs

April 2021 - April 2022

At Novus Labs I performed tests of all kinds for different clients who contract technicians from Novus. Using Jira, command line tools, and Office 365 products, I provided testing support for multiple projects with multiple teams, adapting quickly to each environment as needed. Using Novus' device inventory, I have gained experience with all types of phones, routers, and other smart devices.

Front-End Web Developer, Impact Studio

Impact Studio is a part of Oregon State University aimed at introducing new ideas and initiatives for the school. I was contracted to perform a webiste redesign, giving their main pages a fresh look while still keeping inside OSU style guidlines.

Palo Alto Software Web Developer Intern

Summer 2018 & 2019

During the summers of 2018 and 2019 I worked as an intern on the web development team at Palo Alto Software in Eugene. I spent the summers working with PHP, Wordpress, Sass, JavaScript, and MySQL, solving issues using JIRA, the Scrum agile framework, and GitHub. In my second summer I helped implement multiple components as part of their main website's redesign.

ShoeBio Software Developer

January 2018 - June 2018

While going to school at OSU, I was working as a software developer for ShoeBio which is a project created by two business students at Oregon State University. ShoeBio helps users find the best prices on shoes in the market by combining prices from over 300 sites and for hundreds of thousands of shoes. I was working with a partener to develop a web scraper that provides the backend data. Our prototype was able to obtain data from around 100 vendors.

University of Oregon Computer Science Research

June 2017 - September 2017

I interned as a full stack web developer for a CS research project called FastTraq. FastTraq’s goal is to let bikers in Eugene trigger timed traffic lights using bluetooth. I created the frontend, backend, and database for the website which serves as a tool for users to create bike routes that trigger these lights in junction with the phone app.
